BIG Equipment in Fernville

Here is whats going on in front of our house!! I came home to half of our side walks tore up. They are replacing the sidewalks and putting in curbing.

The whole street is tore up but it will be a nice blessing when completed. All the old side walks on the street are all gone. They started to pour the walks and so far they look great, can't wait to see the finished project. They are to repave our street also, once this project is complete.

BAND CAMP WEEK

Well we are getting ready to begin school next week! This week Brandon has band camp, that means practice in the morning and practice in the evening. He LOVES it!!! I picked him up after his first practice and he said we should just have band camp all day. I hope he doesn't say that to loud especially at practice. He has this all week and then at the end of Friday we have a covered dish meal and get to see a sneak preview of the show. That should be really neat, I will take lots of pictures and share them with all of you. The kids and I start back to school next Thursday, Aug 23rd. We are still getting all the goodies we need and preparing for both children to be in the Middle school. Brandon got his schedule today and Nicole already had hers so they are all set with that. This Thursday Aug.16th is Brandon's birthday but he will be at band camp, so I told him we would have ice cream and cake this weekend. The BIG 13!!! Oh yes he has a girlfriend from the camp ground. She is a very nice girl and comes from a great family, they are from Selinsgrove. So if he isn't out on his bike we will find him with Brynn.

Lakemont Park & The Island Waterpark

On Thursday, Aug 9th we took the kids on a surprise trip. Chris had two days of vacation so we headed for the camp ground and then on to Altoona. Needless to say it rained almost the whole way there. We did not have a back up plan for the rain so we prayed really hard that it would stop. We arrived at Lakemont Park in Altoona and the rain slowed down and then it stopped. We enjoyed the water park and the amusement park rides for the whole day until about 5pm when it started to storm. At this point the kids had rode everything they wanted to and the lines were really short so they even rode some more than once. The picture is of the kids on the oldest roller coaster, it was really neat. The guy actually hand pushed it and up the hill you went, it had no track and it was the old wooden ones so it was rough. But fun!! This was an inexpensive park and a day of some much over due family fun. If you want to visit the web site it is www.lakemontparkfun.com and we highly recommend taking your own families. When I was a child my parents took us and I remembered lots of the visit after returning again.

Our Weekend Get Away

This is where we enjoy spending our weekends in the summer months. This is our camper which we have a permanent site at Hidden Valley Campground in Mifflinburg on 192. It is so relaxing and the kids have made many friends there too. Generally speaking we are there Friday until Sunday and Chris is known to travel back and forth to work. It is a very family oriented camp ground and we really enjoy the setting. Generally speaking you will find us at the barn Friday nights playing Bingo and then depends on the activities on the weekend we participate in them too. My parents have a permanent site there too and spend a lot of time there also. Everyone is always welcome to come visit us. It is always nice to sit around the camp fire in the evenings and visit with friends, and there is always plenty of smore supplies.

Brandon in band uniform

Here is Brandon in his band uniform. These are brand new uniforms this year. He looks GREAT!! I know I might be a bit prejudice. Brandon is really enjoying band and doesn't mind all the practices. He will be having band camp next week, which is twice a day.

Vacation

In June we were lucky enough to make a trip to my brothers in South Carolina. Mom had gone down to help with the boys (Tradd and Cooper) while Coleman had her surgery. Dad, and the kids and I drove down to bring her home and have a nice visit. Needless to say missing from the picture is Meghan, Coleman (Coleman was not allowed to go out yet) and Dad. It was great to enjoy the children, we really miss not being able to enjoy them on a regular basis. Can't wait until November to see them all again.

New Addition

This is our new addition. Her name is "Bridgette" she is a miniature golden retriever. Bridgette is 6 years old, very well behaved. The rule is no dogs on the couch, as you can see she makes her own rules and enjoys the paper too. She is definitely the kids dog. Penny and Bridgette get along well too.

Mifflinburg Soccer Tournament

Here is the winning team at the soccer tournamnet in Mifflinburg! They played 6 games and won all of them. It was a very hot day but they did awesome!

A walk with the McCaffrey's

Well this is my first time at this, so please be patient. I thought this would be a great way to keep up with my children. Brandon is heading for the teenage years. He is going into 8th grade and has been asked to play in the high school marching band. He LOVES it!! He will also be playing soccer again for a club team. I will do my best to keep everyone updated on the crazy schedules. As for Nicole she is heading into the BIG Middle school this year. I know she will do fine, she is so mature and just an all around good personality. We have already done the orientation and she knows her schedule. She will be playing soccer also this year.
