Our Crazy Life
Well it has been a bit crazy here. Maxine had knee replacement on Monday, Feb. 2nd, all went well. On Tuesday morning they had her up and walking. We knew she would need to go to rehab, but really didn't want a nursing home. We got our wish she went to Health South on Wednesday, Feb. 4th. She really worked hard and sucked up the pain. They sent her home on Saturday, Feb. 14th. Needless to say that was also the weekend for Brandon's basketball tournament. After the basketball game about 1pm we headed down to bring Maxine home. She got home alright and all went well. We stayed with her all weekend and then Mon her niece stayed with her and Tues her sister and Wed a friend of hers. This was a big help then I would come home and stay there the evening and night with her.The kids stayed at my Mom and Dads since there wasn't enough room for all of us. On Wed evening her daughter came home from Ct. and is here until Sunday. So it has been a challenge taking care of two houses and running here and there but we have survived it.
As of tonight the basket ball season is officially over. It was a tough season though for the boys. The coach wouldn't play the 9th graders instead played the 8th graders and it was a 9th grade team. This made for some amorousity between the boys. I did have a chance to express my concerns but really got no where. Well the night before the tournament he walked out of practice on the boys and quit (walked out on the practices 3 times during the season). Like I said it has been a bizarre season. The 8th grade coach and varsity coach stepped up to the plate and took over the team. It really changed the boys attitude and they played as a team and learned more in those last two weeks then they did all season. The only thing that is left is the banquet.
Tomorrow night is Nicole's opening of the middle school play. They have it Friday evening and a dessert theater on Saturday evening. We are excited to see that. She has also decided to play field hockey this year and that starts in March. This will be a new experience for all of us. Pretty excited about this!
On a final note....................Dad retires as of tomorrow!! He has been using his vacation days up to now, but tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 20th 2009 is his official retirement date!!! We are really happy for him and know it is way over due. He is already begun to settle into relax mode. Mom and Dad plan to go to Arizona in April out to my Moms cousin place (Lydias). I am glad they have this planned and are able to travel and enjoy it. So when you see Dad wish him a happy retirement.
HAPPY RETIREMENT DAD !!!!!!!!

Ice Sculptures in Lewisburg
We went to Lewisburg today to see the ice scultures they had on display. Many businesses had them outside there business and they had the heart and bear chair in the park with many more. They all looked wonderful. It was such a nice day to be outside. They also had a polar bear plunge that we watched from the bridge too.
