Winter Weather.........Aaaaggghhhh

We left this morning at 6am and headed for Ohio. It was Mom, Nicole and myself. We were heading to my brothers, in-laws to see Scott and his family. We were going to get to see the new addition, Drayton and the rest of the tribe. We saw a few snow flurries as we left but what are a few flurries to worry about. We picked up 80 in Buckhorn and we were on our way. The further we went the more it snowed and the worse the roads got. We could no longer see the lines on the roads. We are now traveling 35 mph on the interstate. I sure wasn't alone driving at this slow speed. We got to the Jersey Shore exit and I turned around. The roads were just to bad to continue. We are all disappointed that we could not make the trip and see everyone, but I would rather have safe than sorry. So much for best layed plans.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I do know it is Thanksgiving but Santa came to town so I thought I would share those pictures with everyone. It was really cold this day, the young lady is my cousin Kalista and the little guy with Mom is her brother Hunter. Santa parades are much more fun watching them through the eyes of little ones. Hope Everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving, we all have so much to be thankful for! Let the shopping begin..........

Sad Update

On a sadder side. We lost Penny a few weeks ago. We got up Saturday morning and Penny had a small spot on the carpet that she got sick. No big deal, all dogs get sick. So we left her out and she ate some grass (good to settle their stomachs). She came back in and drank some and went back out to get sick. I decided she was done we were going to give that tummy some time to rest. She acted fine. We took Brandon to the high school to practice before the band competition then headed to the camper with the dogs and Nicole in hopes to close it up this weekend and the band comp. was at Mifflinburg. We hung out a while at the camper then headed to the comp. When we came back we left the dogs out and Penny and Bridgett went outside but Penny just layed down. Chris carried her back inside. She went into her pen and we went to the Davis camper to enjoy their fire and company. When we finally came back over Penny choose not to go outside but barked when we put her in her pen to sleep. She slept next to our bed and about 2am she started to yip and moan as if she was in pain and her breathing was labored. That is how the rest of the night went. I got up at 7am and went for a walk and called the vet and left a message. I returned to do some work at our camper (the rest of the crew was sleeping) inside and out. I sat down outside and realized I hadn't heard Penny for a while. I went in to check on her and she had passed away. I woke Chris and we were able to put her in her pen and out in the truck before the kids got up. Within an hour from calling the vet she passed away because they called me back an hour later. We did do some stuff to closer up the camper, but just didn't feel like doing much. Nicole really took it hard, that was her "baby" she said. Thank goodness for Dan he came over and helped Chris bury Penny out back with the rest. Thank goodness for such good friends. We miss not having Penny around. I am glad she didn't suffer anymore than she did though, and we didn't have to make that dreaded decision either.

Happy Veterans Day.................

Here is a photo of the Grand Marshall of the Veteran's Day Parade held in Bloomsburg. Terry Lemons is the driver and Dad was this years grand marshall. We had a nice parade despite the rain before the parade but it was dry for the whole parade. There was a nice small program following the parade and then a meal for the veterans at the fire hall. Its a lot of work but all worth it for the Veterans. They all have given so much this is the least we can do.

I'm Back....................

Well my computer has been fixed. Hooray!!! Thanks to Mike, we love Uncle Mike! Well I have a lot of catching you all up on. I am working on it slowly Lydia. Lets start with today. Today we left for Allentown for ACC's. We left about 6am and took Mom and Dad with us. The competition started at 8am but Bloomsburg didn't take the field until almost 10am. The temps were in the 40's but it was really windy. We stopped at a nice diner called Starlite Diner and had breakfast. Then it was on to the Allentown fairgrounds to park then hike to the stadium. We watched Bloomsburg perform and it was really windy. We then went to the mall and the kids also went there. We got to see the kids and the mall was huge, two floors. We grabbed lunch at the local Friendlys restaurant. We then headed back to the stadium and watched the rest perform and then finally the scores. Bloomsburg placed 24th out of 26 with a score of 81.55, not bad considering. We left and headed home after all scores were given. Mechanicsburg placed first and they very well deserved it. On the way home we ran into a bad snow/sleet storm. I was glad to drive out of that. We picked Brandon up at 6:30pm, what a long day!! I think I am looking at heading to bed very soon. I will catch everyone up on all you have missed, I promise! But not tonight. Good Night!!
