The Year Has Begun With A Bang
We brought the New Year in with our good friends the Davis family. It is tradition to spend it together. Then it was back to the grind. Which also meant the start of play practice for Nicole and County chorus practice for Brandon. The kids and I figured it out that only Thursday and Fridays would I have both of my children to take home after school. To top it off Brandon started practicing with the high school soccer team and played his first high school tournament in Altoona at St Joseph University. We all headed to Altoona, Mom, Dad, Nicole, Nana, Poppy and Grandma. Can't beat that as a good support team to follow you. We all kind of knew Brandon and the other 8th grade student would only probably be played as subs. Well there was 11 students and they played with 6 on the field. So Brandon and the other 8th grade boy were playing as much as the other high school boys. Now I thought playing U15 was a bit of a challenge but now we are playing U19, and keep in mind Brandon is only 13. Well I need not worry he kept up with each one of them. The coaches were impressed and he is now heading to York, Pa to play in yet another tournament in March. They practice once a week for about 2 hours. This past Friday we went to Berwick high school for County Chorus, which Brandon was a member of. They had students from Benton, Southern, Bloomsburg, Central, Danville and Berwick. It was really a nice night of music. We did have the pleasure of having Janet Fisher (my old elementary school music teacher) join us. We like to take her with us when it pertains to music she always enjoys that. This past Saturday we made about 1,000 hoagies for the band and delivered 120 of them that Brandon sold. Next for Brandon is County band practice and TSA and soccer. I think I covered all of his extras. Then there is Nicole she is very good at knowing her lines for the play and has been really enjoying practice. This is her first experience of acting (I must say she does a good job of it off the stage). Nicole is also in girl scouts and she meets once a week for that too. They started selling cookies and have been busy with there meetings. Nicole has also had a lot of homework this year, I guess I forgot how hard 6th grade was. Nicole has been enjoying spending her Christmas money and gift cards. We all have decided she is addicted to shoes. Chris logic is her first pay check when she gets a job will be spent on shoes. There just never seems to be a dull moment at our house. We do get to enjoy a long weekend, for Martin Luther King Day. My computer continues to act up so that is also partially the reason for not updating the blog. We will try to get this problem fixed, Uncle Mike always seems to come through for us. Well I guess this is the update thus far for the McCaffrey gang. I will try to post some pictures later. Hope all are staying warm this winter, the current temp in Bloomsburg is 18 F.
